My family and I went to the beach early in April, and we were gone for two weeks. It seemed like forever, honestly, but it was absolutely beautiful and it provided the much-needed relaxation after being in a play. (which, by the way, was amazing. I'm already really excited about next year!)
Getting back to normal life was very difficult after spending an entire week living on the beach. I didn't take as many pictures as I wanted, but I did take quite a few. I'm here today to post them for you.
The water felt like it was thirty degrees, but we swam in it anyway. I was also generously given a very dark and very painful sunburn. I learned my lesson about not wearing waterproof sunscreen, but it was actually worth it because of how much fun we had in the meantime.
-This was high tide coming in shortly before it rained. Evey time it stormed, the water looked dark and angry. It is hard to capture it completely in pictures, but it was one of the neatest things I've gotten to see.
My biggest fear about going to the beach is sharks, so I got a picture inside of this one's mouth for fun. The shark looked really creepy though. It had red eyes, and it's appearance was generally fearsome. But I guess all sharks are..
One of my favorite things there was the gift shops. Two in particular had a giant alligator and a giant shark over the doorway and across the building. Of course, we had to get a picture inside of the alligator's mouth.
.
The fishing pier was really cool. I am very scared of bridges and heights, so I avoided going onto it, but it did provide a really neat picture. This picture too was taken right before a storm, so the water and the sky looked really grey, and the waves were huge.
Storms on the ocean are pretty fascinating, too. I hate storms, but it was very exciting for me to get to see that.
I think my favorite time of all was morning. The sun was just rising over the water, and there was a mysterious orange glow all over everything. It was so incredibly peaceful.
That was probably the best thing about staying right on the beach.
Every night I fell asleep to the sound of the ocean, and the crashing of the waves woke me up every morning. I truly couldn't wait for each new day to begin, and I was really sad when we had to go. I guess all good things must come to an end, though. Believe me, I'll be going back!
Along with great memories, I brought back a bag of sand, and a very good collection of shells. It was certainly a trip that I will never forget!
I hope you enjoyed this long post full of pictures from one of the most beautiful places in the world. I also hope that if you have never been to the beach, you are at this very moment planning this as your next adventure. I know you won't regret it.
So, with that being said and done, I will be back in a few days with another post. I promise it won't be another month.
Now I'm off to find my next crazy adventure in this wonderful book we call "Life."
Much love and many warm hugs to all you lovely peoples,
~Megan ♥
