November 2016: Month-in-Review

Hello, lovelies! It's December. The last month of 2016. *stares at calendar* What?!

I'm pretty sure November was the busiest month of my year so far. I am not exaggerating when I say that there was always something going on. As a result, I didn't get a lot of writing done, and blogging definitely didn't happen as often as I hoped. I feel like I say this in every post now, but I really do want to get back onto my blogging schedule. We will have to see what happens. I recently had a crazy inspiration/idea for something that could completely change my blogging/writing stuff! It will require a lot of prayer (and if it happens, a lot of work and time!). SO, we will see where that goes, but, in the meantime, I am hoping to still be able to get lots of posts up!

↠Randomness↞

-I finished the 2016 Anne of Green Gables Reading Challenge!
Well, technically I finished it in October, but I finished up all of my notes and such at the beginning of this month. It was such a fun challenge, and I found a bunch of new favorite books through it! If you want to read all of the books, but you aren't sure if it is worth it, it absolutely is!!

- I participated in the Thankfulness Thursday Challenge:
Grace Anne hosted a thankfulness challenge over at her blog, and I am so glad I participated in it! Every Thursday, I posted a list of things that I was thankful/grateful for. I am thinking about doing it permanently, but I am not sure yet. Either way, it was an amazing challenge. Thank you for hosting it, Grace! :)

-Thanksgiving happened:
I have always loved Thanksgiving. This year, my brother and sister-in-law came to visit, and we got together with another family. It was a really low-key day and such a blast! I have learned so much about true gratitude this month. ♥

- NaNoWriMo:
Ok, so I am going to be honest here: I am not happy with how NaNo went for me. I started out really well, but the craziness of this month took over, and I didn't get much done after that. I had limited time to work on it, and between being sick and exhausted from life, I really just didn't get much writing in when I could've. SO, with that being said, I will add that I am grateful for the writing I did get done, even though it wasn't as much as I had originally hoped. I have learned how much fun it is to write a novel, I really love the one I am writing, and I fully intend to finish it, even if it takes me longer than normal! ;)

↠Favorite Music↞

Welll, as all of you know, it is official Christmas season, so most of what I have been listening to is Christmas music. :p I did put in a song that isn't Christmas, though. :) Here are a few of my favorite songs from this month!

//December Song - Peter Hollens
(you should actually just go listen to his whole album because it is AMAZING. ♥)

//Christmas Is Here - JJ Heller

//Oh My Soul - Audrey Assad

↠December Goals↞

⛄ Get back into a blogging routine
⛄ Write every day/make significant progress on my novel
⛄ Exercise every day (or at least continue to stay active)
⛄ Memorize my play lines
⛄ Have an amazing Christmas
⛄ Finish the year well

Sooo, that was the main parts of my month! Thank you so so much for being so patient with my inconsistent posting...you guys are the best!! ♥

How was your month?
How did NaNoWriMo go for you?

Have a lovely day! (and Merry Christmas!) :)

Setember 2016: Month-in-Review

Well, there goes September! It was quite a crazy month for me, but it was also a super exciting month, because FALL OFFICIALLY STARTED!! *screams and dances with a pumpkin* In fact, I was so excited about it that I wrote an entire post about celebrating it! (In which, I blow up with excitement about the season, the pumpkins, and basically everything about fall.)

Ok, so here's what happened in September!

 - I had play auditions (and got a part)! Our homeschool group does a play every year, and for our spring play, we are doing "Get Smart." Play season is always SO exciting!

- FALL OFFICIALLY STARTED!! (C'mon, you saw that one coming.... :p)

- I went to the 2016 True Woman Conference. Last weekend, I had the opportunity to go with my mom, sisters, and some friends of ours to worship and pray with 7,000 other women. It was incredible! I learned so much, and the whole weekend was wonderful!

- I guest posted on Hannah's blog. It was such an amazing opportunity and privilege to be Hannah's first guest poster! Thanks, girl! :)

- I shared a recipe over at A Friend Loves at All Times. We flailed a bit about sprinkles and birthday cake puppy chow, because that's what we made, and it was delicious!

- My novel broke. And I couldn't fix it. *sobs* I hadn't gotten very far into it when I got stuck with the plot. I tried a few different things, but nothing was really coming together, so I ditched it. However, I did get my idea for my NaNo novel, and October is going to be all about planning and preparing for it! Yay!!

I found some really good music this month! I recently got Spotify, and I use it every single day. I love how I can create playlists and have access to every song ever! It's pretty exciting. So, thanks to Spotify, I was able to find some great songs! (Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored by Spotify, I just really really like it. :p)

//Death Has Died by Andy Mineo
(I've never been a big fan of rap/hip-hop, but the lyrics to this one are SO GOOD.)

//The Answer by Josh Turner

//Don't Forget His Love by Ellie Holcomb

//The Lord is My Salvation by the Gettys

September was fabulous!! I am super excited about October, and fall, and all the lovely things that go along with it!

August 2016: Month in Review

August has officially ended, which means it is time for another month in review post! This month was fabulous. So many cool little things that happened just made it a generally happy month!

Let's get into it!

- I started my senior year of school! I still haven't fully wrapped my mind around the fact that I am almost done. Like WAIT WHAT I FEEL LIKE I'M STILL IN KINDERGARTEN WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? But it's real and I'm a senior in high school and I will be done soon and GAH I AM SO EXCITED!! *flailing* (that was a lot of capital letters but WHATEVER :p)

- I didn't read any books. Like, none at all. I feel like a terribly naughty child. I promise September will be better so PLEASE DON'T COME AFTER ME UNICORN ARMIES!!

- I started my novel! (kind of) I'm still in a little bit of a planning stage, but I'm really getting into it, and it's SO exciting! *screaming*

- I did a post swap with Bonnie!! Definitely go read those posts!! We talked about the most important lesson we have learned in our teenage years. It was so much fun doing this together!

- I also did a Q&A with my best friend! We had bucket-loads of fun doing it, and if you haven't read it yet, you absolutely should!!

*wailing*

I won't be doing an Anne of Green Gables review this month either, because I didn't read ANYTHING. :'(

Ahh, music!! I always get excited about this part in the post. :) I listened to TONS of music this month, and I love so much of it! I'll try to keep it down to just a few though. :)

//Beauty and The Beast by Peter and Evynne Hollens:
This one is the song I have been waiting for them to do together for SO long!! GAH IT'S GORGEOUS! :''')

//There is a Fountain Filled With Blood by Red Mountain Church

//Plowin' Song by The Willis Clan

//Though You Slay Me ft. John Piper

I think this month was my record for blog posts!! I LOVE posting consistently, and it makes me so happy to know that I was able to stay on track!

August was a fabulous month! I am really excited about September, because that means fall is basically here, which means sweaters and pumpkins and pretty leaves and spices and candles and all the happy things and I'M SO EXCITED.

July 2016: Month In Review

July was the last full month of summer break! I can't believe the year is more than halfway over!

Also: I am re-typing all of this on Friday night because I lost the entire post somehow... *sarcastic applause* *wails*

Ok, here's my July in review! Enjoy! :)

-I got a laptop! I have been writing almost everything by hand for years, but I could never do as much. It is so exciting to have my own place to work on my writing and store my files!

- I got to see my brother and sister-in-law: Since they live kind of far away, it was really great to see them again, even if it was only for one day. It is still strange not having all of my siblings at home!

- I guest posted on Abbie's blog!! I got to talk about writing over at Abbie's blog last week as part of her Explore US series! I am so grateful that I got to be a part of it! Thanks, Abbiee! ♥

- I also guest posted on Michaila's blog! As part of her blogiversary, Michaila interviewed me over at her blog! It was a lot of fun! Thanks, Michaila! ♥

-Do Hard Things by Alex and Brett Harris: This book is really good. It is about not settling for the average during your teen years, but rising beyond expectations and doing hard things. It has several stories of teens who did just that, along with a lot of encouragement and convicting points. I highly recommend it!

- Anne of Ingleside by L.M. Montgomery: I read this book as part of the reading challenge, and I really like it! I will be doing a review on Tuesday! :)

-Drangonspell by Donita K. Paul: This book actually isn't a favorite of mine. I started reading it, but I really didn't like it for some reason, and I may or may not finish it.

// Be Thou My Vision

// How Can I Keep from Singing

// I love this Sound of Music medley by Peter Hollens! I especially love "My Favorite Things." They sang it in a minor key and it sounds gorgeous! ♥

Hooray for regular posting!! ;)

June 2016: Month in Reveiw

Hey, everyone! I am a little late getting this post out...I'm sorry! June was a rather busy month, which left little time for blogging. *wails* Today, I am posting my month-in-review for June. I am really going to work hard to post more in July! Enjoy!

- Our church had our VBS. I have always loved working in VBS, and this year I was actually part of the skit team! We all had a few issues with lines and such, but as the week went on, things really improved. There were a lot of kids, which was a huge blessing!

- I cleaned out/re-decorated my writing area. I had been needing to do this for SO long, and I LOVE how it turned out! I don't like spending a lot of money on decorations, so I used a few free printables and I was able to use a lot of what I already have. (including white string lights...GAH THEY ARE GORGEOUS.)

- I went to see Finding Dory. I will make a confession...I hadn't even seen Finding Nemo until two weeks ago...I didn't really grow up watching a lot of Disney movies, and that was never one that I thought was necessary to watch. However, since I was planning on going to see Finding Dory, I figured I should probably watch it. :)

- I did a bit of a design update on the blog! I am going to start using smaller pictures in my posts now, and instead of having the buttons on my sidebar, I made a button page. I like that format a lot better, since it kind of keeps my blog neat and organized. (Btw, if you want to do a button swap, let me know!!)
I am still working on updating my About page. Man, it is a lot harder than I thought it would be! That will hopefully be done by the end of July.

I have not done nearly as well with reading this month. I am currently in the middle of a book, and I have a to-read list a mile high!

- Do Hard Things by Alex and Brett Harris. I am currently in the middle of this book, but so far, it is really good. It's about getting outside of your comfort zone and making the most of your teen years. It is a really good, thought provoking book! I highly recommend it!

A few of the books I want to read this month:

- Dragonspell by Donita K. Paul

- Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontee

- Anne of Ingleside by L.M. Montgomery (for the Reading Challenge!)

I don't have a big reading list this month, but these books are pretty long, and I'm thinking they will take a little while to read. It will take some control not to start all of them at once out of excitement! (as I usually end up doing...) *sheepish grins* xD

I haven't been listening to a lot of new music lately, but my sister introduced me to some of Audrey Assad's music. Her voice is AMAZING. When I want to listen to some relaxing music, I usually turn on her hymns album, because it is GORGEOUS. Here are a few of my favorites:

//Oh, The Deep, Deep Love of Jesus
(GAH this one is SO PRETTY)

//Abide With Me

// I Shall Not Want

Oh, and I don't know how many of you watched the golden buzzer acts from AGT this year, but they are so good. I got allll the feels watching them. (chills, goosebumps, tears...the works!) SO. MUCH. TALENT.

That is pretty much all that happened this month! I feel SO bad that I didn't blog half as much as I wanted to, but it is what it is. I am really trying to get some time management happening. Here's to July! :)

How was your month?
What new things have you been finding?

Have a lovely day! :)
