June 2016: Month in Reveiw

Hey, everyone! I am a little late getting this post out...I'm sorry! June was a rather busy month, which left little time for blogging. *wails* Today, I am posting my month-in-review for June. I am really going to work hard to post more in July! Enjoy!

- Our church had our VBS. I have always loved working in VBS, and this year I was actually part of the skit team! We all had a few issues with lines and such, but as the week went on, things really improved. There were a lot of kids, which was a huge blessing!

- I cleaned out/re-decorated my writing area. I had been needing to do this for SO long, and I LOVE how it turned out! I don't like spending a lot of money on decorations, so I used a few free printables and I was able to use a lot of what I already have. (including white string lights...GAH THEY ARE GORGEOUS.)

- I went to see Finding Dory. I will make a confession...I hadn't even seen Finding Nemo until two weeks ago...I didn't really grow up watching a lot of Disney movies, and that was never one that I thought was necessary to watch. However, since I was planning on going to see Finding Dory, I figured I should probably watch it. :)

- I did a bit of a design update on the blog! I am going to start using smaller pictures in my posts now, and instead of having the buttons on my sidebar, I made a button page. I like that format a lot better, since it kind of keeps my blog neat and organized. (Btw, if you want to do a button swap, let me know!!)
I am still working on updating my About page. Man, it is a lot harder than I thought it would be! That will hopefully be done by the end of July.

I have not done nearly as well with reading this month. I am currently in the middle of a book, and I have a to-read list a mile high!

- Do Hard Things by Alex and Brett Harris. I am currently in the middle of this book, but so far, it is really good. It's about getting outside of your comfort zone and making the most of your teen years. It is a really good, thought provoking book! I highly recommend it!

A few of the books I want to read this month:

- Dragonspell by Donita K. Paul

- Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontee

- Anne of Ingleside by L.M. Montgomery (for the Reading Challenge!)

I don't have a big reading list this month, but these books are pretty long, and I'm thinking they will take a little while to read. It will take some control not to start all of them at once out of excitement! (as I usually end up doing...) *sheepish grins* xD

I haven't been listening to a lot of new music lately, but my sister introduced me to some of Audrey Assad's music. Her voice is AMAZING. When I want to listen to some relaxing music, I usually turn on her hymns album, because it is GORGEOUS. Here are a few of my favorites:

 //Oh, The Deep, Deep Love of Jesus
(GAH this one is SO PRETTY)

//Abide With Me

// I Shall Not Want

Oh, and I don't know how many of you watched the golden buzzer acts from AGT this year, but they are so good. I got allll the feels watching them. (chills, goosebumps, tears...the works!) SO. MUCH. TALENT.

That is pretty much all that happened this month! I feel SO bad that I didn't blog half as much as I wanted to, but it is what it is. I am really trying to get some time management happening. Here's to July! :)

How was your month?
What new things have you been finding?

Have a lovely day! :)

    1. I can't focus at all if my space is messy!! I think that may be the reason I wasn't using it before! I might post those sometime! Thank you so much for commenting, Vanessa!! <3

  3. Megan,(and anyone else who have watched these movies) How did you enjoy "Finding Nemo" and "Finding Dory?" I personally watched Finding Nemo at the beginning of the year and found it sooooo boring.That could be because I'm 16 though. I usually enjoy Disney films like Tangled and Frozen (sort of) but I guess fish movies kind of move slowly. ~Abby <3<3<3 Haven't seen Finding Dory yet and I want to know if it's worth my time.
