Tiger Lily Birthday Cake and the Outdoors!

The month of April is full of birthdays in our house. I especially like that because it means I get to make more cakes! Cake decorating is a really fun hobby for me, and I was very excited when I got a flower making course for Christmas. Now, I am finally able to use it! I decided to try the Lilies first, since those are my favorite. I was very pleased with the way they turned out, although some of them got cracked when I put them on the cake. (As you can probably see :))

These are the lilies while they were drying in the cups...
The finished product!
The recipe for the chocolate cake is on Nutmeg and Koko if you want to check it out.

There are little signs of spring everywhere now! The river is starting to melt finally, and the robins are back! Lizzy took these pictures while we were at the river last week. :)
