"If one cannot enjoy reading a book over and over again,
there is no use in reading it at all."

If there was one thing that has not changed since I was little, it is my love of books. I can be content for hours with a stack of books and a comfy chair. Usually the coffee comes a part of the package. :)
I thought today that I would share some of my favorite books with you guys. If you are looking for some good reading material, these are really good books that I come back to read over and over again. (They aren't in any particular order, I just listed them as they came to mind)
//1: Anne of Green Gables:
This book has been my favorite for many years, and I've always really loved Anne. Her imagination and crazy life really draws me in every time. I feel like I'm watching it all happen when I read this book. I like the rest of the series as well, but this one is my favorite. I usually read this as a refresher after reading a book and hating it.
//2: Lassie Come-Home:
This was the first book that I read that made me cry. I absolutely loved it, and I have read it countless times. I love animals, and especially dogs, so this was definitely my kind of book.
//3: The City of Ember:
I recently read this book, and I am really looking forward to reading the rest of the series. It's about an underground world, but actual people lived there. There was never a dull moment while reading it. I felt like I was there and a part of everything. I do that a lot while reading books, though. I think it is my imaginative side. :)
//4: The Door Within Series:
If you've been following my blog for awhile, you already know how much I love these books. I did aHERE) They really pulled me in and kept me interested the entire time. I borrowed them, but I want to get copies of my own so I can read them again and again.
post where I reviewed them. (Read it
//5: Vinegar Boy:
I read this book a long time ago, and it was one that really impacted me and made me think about the story of Christ. It was a really good read, and I am looking forward to reading it again soon.
//6: The Incredible Journey:
This is another animal story, and it is a really great book. I cried at the end of this one too. I love how devoted animals are to their owners. It really warms my heart.
Those are a few of my favorite books! I hope you find some good ideas for things you can read. If you are looking for reading material, I do have a book that I will recommend you NOT read...I just finished Tess of D'Ubervilles, and I absolutely hated it. It was extremely depressing and left me feeling disgusted with humanity. It's also very difficult to get through because of the old language. I would have stopped in the middle, but I don't like leaving books half read, and I also really wanted to know what happened to the really bad guy. There are far better books to spend your time on, trust me. :) Right now, I'm in the process of reading The Yearling, so possibly I'll let you know how that turns out.
What are your favorite books? Let me know in the comments below if you have any suggestions. I'm always open for new books to read! I also have a Goodreads account, so you can recommend books to me on there.
I'll be back with another post soon, but until then my fellow bookworms,
~Megan ♥
I LOVE Anne of Green Gables! ~Abby
