Hello, everyone! Today's post is really exciting, because I am doing a super-special Q&A with my super-special best friend, Abby!! *confetti and applause*
Abby's answers will be in bold, and mine will be in italics. I answered these before I saw Abby's answers, even though it looks like we copied each other in some spots! I guess it's just a best friend thing! :)
Eeeek! I'm so excited! Let's get into it! :)
//How and when did you meet?
A: We met at church the first Sunday in June of 2005. I was very shy because I didn't know anyone there, so I kind of stood off all alone against a wall. When I saw Megan looking at me...I can't describe the feeling I had. All I can remember is that I wanted her as a friend, but I wasn't about to walk up to her...not without my mom, at least. (I was really attached to my mom at that time. I was five, after all.) I looked around for my mom, and she was close, but when I looked back at Megan, she was walking up to me with her sister. I froze, probably more out of fright than anything else. The first thing Megan said still sticks with me to this day. She said, "Hi. Are you saved?" At that time, I didn't know what that meant, but now I do, and I have accepted Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior...and Megan has been such a good friend and encouragement through my walk with the Lord and otherwise. Since that day, we have been best friends. M: We met at church back in 2005! We both really wanted to be best friends with each other from the time we saw each other across the church, and I am so happy that we still are best friends after eleven years!
//What is your favorite memory together?
A: It's definitely a toss-up between spending our birthdays together and sleepovers!
M: Oh, eleven years harbors SO many memories!! I'll name a few: writing stories together, sleepovers, and celebrating our birthdays together!
//What is it like being best friends with someone who blogs?
A: I think it's great to know someone who has the skills and the talents to stay committed to a blog. I would definitely love to have my own blog someday...maybe soon...but I am very happy and honored to do this tag with Megan, my best friend.
//If you could go anywhere in the world together, where would it be and why?
A: Prince Edward Island, Canada, to explore Avonlea and the fictitious world of Anne of Green Gables.
M: We were talking together about this, and we both agreed that Prince Edward Island would be our first choice! (because Anne of Green Gables...obviously! ;))
//What is your favorite inside joke?
A: Pookymax! If you are wondering why, my neighbors had two cats a long time ago. One was named Pooky, and one was named Max. We combined the two names and thought it was so funny. Why? I have no idea.
M: Pookymax!! I remember that we even started calling my dog "Pooky." To this day, I still call him that out of habit, and he responds to it! I'm not completely sure what made that so funny, but we were young and very goofy back then. :p
//What is your best friend's favorite season?
A: I'd have to say spring or autumn. I'm leaning more towards spring, though.
M: I'm guessing it's autumn! If that's wrong...maybe spring..
//Describe your best friend in one word:
A: INCREDIBLE. I could give you several reasons why, but there's so many that I could never stop. She is one of the best friends anyone could ever have. I love you, Megan!!!!!
M: Genuine. I have never had to worry about Abby being a fake about anything. She is so real about her faith, and especially our friendship! She is also kind, caring, and generally AMAZING! (I know..I listed more than one word. :p) I am so blessed to have you as a friend (and sister!), Abby!!
//Does your best friend prefer heels or flats?
A: Flats, because heels are hard to walk in. I hope I'm right.
M: I'm guessing she would like flats the most! I don't seem to remember her ever wearing heels, actually.
//What is your best friend's favorite animal?
A: A long time ago, she loved cows. Now I'd say golden retrievers or puppies, period. She likes owls too, but owls are birds.
M: Perhaps cats? Or giraffes? I remember when we were really little and we both went through a phase where we really like giraffes!
//If the house was burning down, and the entire family and pets were safe, what would your best friend save and why?
A: I think she would save her Bible, camera, and laptop.
M: I think Abby would grab her Bible, her writing, and her camera.
//What is your best friend's favorite movie?
A: "Anne of Green Gables" and "Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel"
M: "Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story"
//What is something weird that your best friend eats?
A: Boiled peanuts...Weird!
M: Lunch meat sandwiches with a chocolate chip cookie and Fritos inside! If that's not weird, then I don't know what is! :D
//Do you guys have anything matching?
A: We used to have matching skirts. We would get them from our moms and sisters for our birthdays. Now, I think we have matching necklaces and mugs.
M: I LOVE this question, because growing up, we would match our outfits all the time! For several birthdays in a row, we got matching skirts! We have long out-grown them, but we have matching necklaces and mugs now.
//What is your best friend's favorite TV show?
A: The Willis Family on TLC
M: Road to Avonlea or Food Network shows
//What does your best friend like better: Coffee or tea?
A: For Megan...Oh...Definitely Coffee. Without a doubt!! :)
M: Tea! I'm not sure what flavor though...maybe peppermint? Someday I will get her to be a crazy coffee drinker too!! ;)
Abby is an amazing person. She is wise, mature, mega-talented, and it is very evident that she loves the Lord. Abby and I have been best friends for eleven years, and it has been a crazy but awesome friendship! I am delighted to be able to call her my best friend.
